INTER.SECT Annual Meeting 2025: Data Protection Concept, Workplan and Symposium 2026, Announcements
An internal working meeting of the INTER.SECT team took place on 9th October 2025 at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Bielefeld to plan the next phase of the project. The focus was on finalising the data protection concept, work planning for the coming year, and the symposium in autumn 2026 on the topic of Health Assessment Protocols.

Participation at the World Congress on Migration, Ethnicity, Race and Health, Events
INTER.SECT will be represented at the GSMERH Congress in Lisbon with a presentation on the conceptual review on “Uncertainties of the migration trajectory”.

Effects of subjective social status on migrant health, Publications
This systematic review finds that the loss of subjective social status through migration is negatively associated with mental health, general health and life satisfaction. The results emphasise the need for effective measures for the socioeconomic integration of migrants.

On 8th October 2025, the INTER.SECT partners in collaboration with the Center for Uncertainty Studies (CeUS) are organising a symposium on the multifaceted uncertainties in the context of migration at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) in Bielefeld. The INTER.SECT partners held an internal methods workshop on data linkage and geomasking took place on 6th March 2025 at the TMF premises in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Rainer Schnell from the University of Duisburg-Essen accompanied the meeting.
