The symposium „Resettlement, humanitarian admission and complementary access in refugee protection“ is an annual event, which fosters the exchange between civil society, research, policy and administrative actors, in order to improve the admission of refugees. The symposium is organised by Deutscher Caritasverband, Diakonie Deutschland and UNHCR and took place at the Evangelisches Werk für Diakonie und Entwicklung in Berlin on 19th and 20iest November 2025.

As part of the interactive presentations on day two, Ann-Kathrin Kächele and Rosani Thambithurai from Bielefeld University presented on the aims, methods and expected contributions of INTER.SECT (see poster in the download section). The two days provided ample room for exchange with the different actors from the resettlement context. The inputs and new contacts will surely enrich future project phases.

The INTER.SECT team would like to thank the organisers for the invitation and the great coordination of the event. Resettlement has never been more relevant than now!
