The INTER.SECT partners get together once a year for an all-day work meeting. This year’s internal workshop took place on 9th October 2025, following the symposium on uncertainty in the context of migration, at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Bielefeld. The partners from the BAMF Research Data Centre, TMF e.V., IOM and Bielefeld University discussed ongoing and upcoming project activities. A particular focus of the meeting was on the finalisation of the data protection concept which is to be submitted to the Data Protection Working Group of TMF e.V. for a vote by the end of 2025. Another agenda item related to the changes in the workplan which result from the suspension of the resettlement programme through the Federal Government. Instead of the planned primary data collection among newly-arriving resettlement refugees, the project focus will be shifted to the development of AI-featured survey tools in 2026. Looking ahead to the next annual meeting, Berlin has been set as the location for autumn 2026, which will also include an international symposium on Health Assessment Protocols.
